The Health Unit offers two types of classes:
COUPLES CLASSES:
These classes are held in partnership with North Bay General Hospital.
Classes taught by the Health Unit cover the following topics:
Early Series (before 16 weeks of pregnancy):
Class 1: Discomforts in Pregnancy/Fetal Development
Class 2: Healthy Lifestyles
Late Series (after 16 weeks of pregnancy):
Class 1: Infant Feeding
Class 2: Infant Safety/Transition to Parenthood

YOUTH CLASSES (Offered in North Bay Only)
"Special Delivery Club" is the name of the youth prenatal series. It consists of 8 classes. The Special Delivery Club provides a safe and friendly atmosphere and addresses the issues pertaining to young moms. Support person/partners are welcome.

- The growing baby inside you
- Nutrition for mom
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Birth of the baby
- Hospital tour
- Infant feeding
- Mom and baby care
- Infant Safety
- Baby Shower
Registration for Youth Classes
- To register for classes please contact North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit at (705) 474-1400 ext. 2285. Please register as soon as possible, preferably in the first three months of pregnancy. Registration is limited.
Fee
- A $15.00 supply fee applies.

Labour and Delivery Classes (Offered in North Bay Only)
This series is offered by the North Bay General Hospital for participants of the couples classes. These classes will cover the following topics:
- Labour and Delivery
- The Newborn
- Tour of the delivery suite
- Postpartum
